Concept Notes

Issue Notes are documents aligned between the member countries of the G20, containing guidelines for discussions aimed at consensus on different themes. They are established according to the priorities defined by the country that holds the shift mandate. All the issues notes of the working groups, task forces and initiatives are available on this page and are updated as they are approved by the respective groups. This task force's priorities include redefining the actions of credible, robust and fair national transition plans and reconfiguring finance to align with the Paris Agreement.

Technical Note about the Task Force for the Global Alliance against Hunger and Poverty

Brasil proposes the creation of a Global Alliance against Hunger and Poverty, establishing a specific G20 Task Force to discuss it, linking the Sherpas and Finance tracks. The Alliance will be launched during the G20 Summit in November.

The Initiative is structured around three thematic axes: science, technology and innovation; sustainable use of biodiversity; and the role of the bioeconomy in promoting sustainable development.

The priorities of this WG are: 1. Contributing to a just and sustainable world by combating corruption; 2. Encouraging the private sector to adopt anti-corruption measures; 3. Improving public administration.

Note from the Trade and Investment Working Group (WG)

The priorities of this WG are: 1. Trade and sustainable development; 2. Women's participation in international trade; and 3. Sustainable development in investment agreements.

Technical Note from the Culture WG

Cultural diversity and inclusion, digital environment and copyright, preservation, safeguarding and promotion of cultural heritage are the themes of the WG.

Technical Note from the Development Working Group (WG)

The priorities of this WG are: 1. Combating inequalities; 2. Provision of basic services, especially access to sanitation; and 3. Partnerships for the 2030 Agenda.

Technical Note from the Digital Economy Working Group (WG)

The priorities of this WG are: 1. Digital Inclusion, Universal and Meaningful Connectivity; 2. Digital Government: Building a Confident and Inclusive Digital Public Infrastructure; 3. Online Information Integrity and Trust in the Digital Economy; and 4. Artificial Intelligence for Sustainable Development and Reducing Inequalities.

Technical Note from the Global Economy Working Group (WG)

The priorities of this WG are: 1. Prioritizing the combat against inequality: macroeconomic and distributive implications associated with current global and domestic trends; 2. Tackling distributional challenges in sustainable transition policies; 3. Creating fiscal space to support public investment.

The priorities of this WG are: Seek to develop actions to create quality jobs and promote decent work, guaranteeing social inclusion to eliminate poverty.

Technical Note from the Sustainable Finance Working Group (WG)

The priorities of this WG are: 1. Optimize access to international climate and environment funds; 2. Advancing on fair, robust and reliable transition plans; 3. Technical Note from the Education Working Group (WG)

The priorities of this WG are: 1. Valuing and training education professionals; 2. Sharing educational materials for Sustainable Development; and 3. The award G20 for the Development of the School with the Community.

Technical Note from the Women's Empowerment Working Group (WG)

The WG is bringing gender issues to the scope of the G20 for the first time. The group's priority is to strengthen the debate on gender and the dissemination of best practices and public policies.

The priorities of this WG are: The just and inclusive energy transition, how to accelerate the financing of energy transitions, the social dimension of the energy transition and the perspectives of sustainable fuel innovation.

The priorities of this WG are the mobilization of resources for health, including prevention, preparedness, response to pandemics and mobilizing members' perceptions of the importance of the proposals.
